Philanthropy
The Delta Zeta national philanthropies, supported by both collegiate and alumnae members, are The Starkey Hearing Foundation and the Painted Turtle Camp. The Starkey Hearing Foundation brings the gift of hearing to those in need. They fit more than 100,000 hearing aids annually to children and adults, and have pledged to fit more than 1 million hearing aids to people in need this decade. The Painted Turtle Camp is an organization dedicated to providing an authentic camp experience for children with chronic and life threatening illnesses. To support this camp, we put on Turtle Tugs in the spring, which is concluded with tug of war over a pool of jello!
Our local Philanthropy is called Mel's Walk. It is a 5K walk that supports the burn unit at Riley Hospital for Children.
Our members also support other organizations philanthropies by donating money or participating in the event. Many Delta Zeta sisters are on committees for Dance Marathon.
